Note: We sell our photographs unframed,
so this information is provided to help your framer.
To mount our photographs use cold rollers with a pressure sensitive
film to adhere the photograph to the mounting board.
This keeps the photograph flat and permanently fixed.
Next a mat is cut to size leaving a space of 10mm of black edge
around the photograph and 15mm along the bottom edge where the Title,
Edition number and Signature are.
The mat is put in place to stop the photograph from touching the
glass.
Place the mounted photograph in the frame and secure, then place a wide tape to cover the gap where the mount board
meets the frame, this will keep out moisture.
Doing this and using the following products
or similar will give you an archivally framed photograph to last
a lifetime.
Products to use:
Mount board - CSR Craftwood MDF 4.75mm
Pressure sensitive Seal Artmount P film.
Mat boards - Watermark or Crescent.
Frames by - Marks and Hughes
Important Notes:
Do not use hinge-mounting as eventually
the photograph could warp and touch the glass and be permanently damaged.
Always handle your photographs by the
outer black edges and keep them
away from direct sunlight.
Even in museums photographs are never displayed in direct sunlight.
Note: Framing can be done by request
but only for delivery in Australia, not overseas.
